Hindi songs (Bollywood songs) are heard far beyond the borders of India. The lines of Hindi songs are some of the most memorized and repeated expressions in India.

Popular Hindi music has its roots in cinema. Unlike the west, even today, the best and most popular Hindi music comes from films, rather than pop albums. Since the day that movies became ‘talkies’, song and dance has been a much-loved ritual of cinema.
